About the City Clerk

The City of Cedar Key operates under the Mayor-Council form of government. The City Commission is elected by the voters and in turn, the Council appoints a professionally trained individual as its City Clerk. It is the responsibility of the City Clerk to handle day to day operation of city business. The City Council makes policy decisions, and votes on all legislative or quasi-judicial matters required or enabled by state or federal law. The City Clerk of the Commission shall keep records and perform such other duties as are prescribed by this act or the commission. Crystal Sharp is the current City Clerk, she was the Assistant City Clerk for many years prior to being appointed City Clerk.
