About the City Clerk

Under the Mayor/Commission form of government the City of Cedar Key Board of Commissioners appoints a professionally trained, experienced City Clerk to handle the day-to-day operations of the City business.  In this capacity, the city clerk serves as the liaison between the City Board of Commissioners and the public. The city clerk’s responsibilities include the coordination of municipal elections, maintaining custody of the city’s official seal, management of all records including recording data, transcribing, filing, storing, and their maintenance, preparing and maintaining official reports, legal documents and financial records and ensuring public access to public records.  Carol Walker is the City’s interim City Clerk. She is a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), that has 30+ years of experience as a City Clerk in large to small Cities in the State of Florida.
